16 All sums of money awarded and all costs against the Compensation Crown, if any shall, as soon as practicable after the award is published, be paid out of the public revenues, and all sums awarded, exclusive of costs, shall bear interest at the rate of eight dollars per cent. per annum from the date of the resumption of the land until payment.
